Let's kick things off by taking a good look at our predicted winner, the filly Minnie Idol, racing today at Newcastle. Set to compete over 6f on Standard (AW - Tapeta) conditions in the 'Race 2 Midnite: Built For 2026 Not 2006 Restricted Maiden Stakes', this 4-year-old is handled by J. Ryan with Connor Planas in the pilot seat. Given that none of the horses have won a race previously, we'll delve a bit into the form and connections. Although Minnie Idol doesn't boast any wins in her recent past, she's had some experience at this course, which could count for something familiar under her hooves. Teamed up with Connor Planas, who has managed to secure a win lately, might add some pep to their step. Ryan’s stable isn’t firing on all cylinders, but a recent course win suggests he knows how to prepare a winner here. Then we have the second favourite, Go Teejay, a 3-year-old gelding trained by Craig Lidster. With S H James aboard, they're hoping to shake things up. Unlike Minnie Idol, Go Teejay hasn’t tasted competition at Newcastle yet, offering a fresh but untried angle. James and Lidster haven't combined much recently, which could be a factor if you fancy a flutter on this one. Supremissy, another three-year filly, comes in next, prepared by I Jardine with Mohammed Tabti as the jockey. Limited activity in recent months for this horse makes it a bit of a dark horse – literally! If you're feeling adventurous, keep an eye out, given the unpredictability factor with her limited race exposure. Lastly, a nod towards Minnie Idol as the favourite tickles our fancy today. Given her experience at the course and some decent work between the jockey Connor Planas and the trainer, they could well be a pair to watch. They might just spring a victory dance at the Newcastle! Best of luck to all punters, and remember, keep those stakes sensible!
