The 12:37 at Leopardstown promises some action and the spotlight is on the top contender, Kargese, poised for the 'Race 2 Paddy Power From The Horses Mouth Podcast Beginners Chase'. A 5-year-old mare trained by the prolific W P Mullins and ridden by Paul Townend, Kargese comes into this race as a strong favourite with a live price of a fairly short 1.62. The duo of Mullins and Townend have always been a formidable team, and recent stats uphold this with Townend winning 14 out of his last 60 rides. Kargese shows a decent track record having raced three times at this distance with a win and notable riding at Leopardstown before. Following closely in the betting is Lovely Hurling at 5 odds, a 6-year-old gelding with Mark Walsh aboard, trained by Colm Murphy. Without any recent wins in the past 30 days, both horse and trainer have shown moderate forms. Recent outings at this track for the horse haven't shown standout performances either, which leaves it lurking as a potential but not a solid contender today. James's Gate, priced at 4, also demands some attention. This 8-year-old gelding, teamed up with J J Slevin and M Brassil, has shown a good strike rate in recent months but still lags behind our top pick. With two wins in his last three races at this distance, his experience could pose a challenge, though the team doesn't match the success rate of our leading team, Mullins and Townend. As we edge closer to race time at Leopardstown, it's Kargese who stands out with the highest potential of crossing the finish line first. With a keen combination of proficient training and expert jockeying, it's hard to look past this dominant pair. Best of luck to all punters today, and remember, always bet responsibly!
