Ah Limerick, where the chases are as long as the evenings this time of year. In today's MC Roofing And Guttering Handicap Chase over 2m 1f 200y, our top tickle is Smallcraftwarning. He's kicking at the age of 8 but don’t write the old boy off yet. His pedigree suggests a bit more gusto in a chase setup, especially under the guidance of pilot D King and experience of trainer J P Ryan. Though recent runs haven’t seen him in the winners' enclosure, with a recent form showing a slight drought, it’s the 8.5 odds (a tasty slice of value here!) that tempt a cheeky flutter given his reasonable strike rate over time in longer-term stats. A win from him wouldn't shock anyone paying attention to his somewhat muted potential just waiting to come alive. Turning to Aleish Lass, another beast not unfamiliar with the firm grounds of Limerick. At 6 years old and shouldered by Mr L Burke-Ott, she seems to be on the cusp of something after a win not too long ago in the 180-day form line. Trainer M Winters could do with a bit more luck, sporting modest recent results but a previous course win under Aleish Lass’s belt does bode well. The odds of 9 stack up interestingly, pointing to potential if the stars align just right. Now, Crowsatedappletart doesn't have the zingiest of names but carries a certain flavour of its own. At 8 years with rider D J O'Keeffe on board, he's stirred but not shaken. With a live price of 5, he's seen as more likely to nibble at the heels of a win than chomp one down fully. Given his and his trainer M Winters' streaks, those odds might feel a bit short, but there's always room for a surprise in a chase, right? For those who like a flutter on something longer, Be My Hero at 11 might catch the eye. G Elliott (a name needing no intro) trains this 10-year-old stalwart. It's a bit of a high-risk play, but at those odds, he might just be the jackpot you didn't know you needed. The tip for today? Keep an eye on Smallcraftwarning; he's primed, priced right, and could prove a shrewd investment. No harm in throwing a speculative quid on Be My Hero either, just for the thrill of it. Best of luck, and remember, keep it fun and gamble responsibly!
